A JUDGE said yesterday that a man caught on camera watering 354 cannabis plants at Lake Eppalock had to be more than a gardener. Massimo "Max" Paris, 36, pleaded guilty to cultivating a trafficable amount of cannabis and cultivating cannabis at his then home in Tullamarine. Defence lawyer David Brustman told Melbourne County Court that Paris was paid $2000 to tend to the crop at Patons Road, where he was captured on police surveillance between November 29, 2004, and January, last year, when he was arrested by Bendigo Crime Investigations Unit detectives. Judge Frank Dyett said Paris was unlikely to make a trip from Tullamarine in his Mercedes Benz and get into other…

Howards attack on the rights of the Australian people continues, this time focusing on traditional land owners. This is an email I received from www.getup.org.au. Please visit the website and register your concern over this issue. There are also lists of your state Senators phone numbers there, so call them up and tell them that you're not happy with the Governments continued abuse of power.

My brother, Nick who lives in Wollongong, visited the other day and among the gems he brought with him was a digi copy of a Australian Marijuana Party pamphlet from Kiama by-election circa 1985. Maybe some of the old-timers might remember how strong pot was in those days? 30 times stronger today? Ha ha ha what a joke, I remember some mind boggling herb from that era.

I found this article of intense interest, in light of the advice this site recieved from a prominant drug law reformer at heart, and the only guy to really get a chance at change to the drug laws of NSW at least. He is the guy that headed up the gov. committeee into the medical use of pot in NSW for patients that would benifit from it as medicine. He doesn't come from HEMP, he certainly isn't from Nimbin, and inspite of all the hellabaloo that has come from that dirtection; Prof. Wayne Hall accompilshed in a short time what all the "in ya face" protesting couldn't do in 30 years. His advice to us here was simple. He said get some average socially acceptable people tha…

They could receive 10 years in prison or more if convicted of felony charges. POLICE have launched a crackdown on drug gangs setting up hydroponic cannabis-growing operations across Melbourne and nearby farming areas. The move comes as Prime Minister John Howard urges states to tackle cannabis abuse as part of Australia's new mental-health strategy. At the Council of Australian Governments meeting in Canberra on Friday, Mr Howard said a generation of Australians had been too passive about illicit drug use, particularly marijuana and amphetamines. The latest raids, on Thursday, resulted in seven arrests at hydroponics shops in Melton and Werribee, houses across the western and northern suburbs and a farm near Bacchus Marsh. Three men appeared in the…

Army Recruits Down The Australian Defence Force forecasts that young Australians will increase their usage of recreational drugs and suffer from obesity in higher numbers in the future. The findings came out of the Defence Force's internal recruiting plan, which found that the number of potential army recuits is deminishing. Increasing use of marijuana and obesity related to junk food were cited as the main reasons for the decline in the potential candidates. The ADF is having trouble recruiting for other reasons as well, including the ageing of the population and private sector competition. THE Australian Greens have dropped a controversial policy to study options to supply drug users with ecstasy and marijuana. Party leader Bob Brown said yesterday the party had backed away from the proposal after talking to drug experts. The plan to investigate the regulated supply of illicit drugs was ridiculed by critics in the lead-up to the 2004 federal election. It called for "the controlled availability of cannabis at appropriate venues" and "investigations of options for the regulated supply of social drugs such as ecstasy in controlled environments". Under the Greens' revised drugs policy, decisions about harm minimisation would rest with a proposed new Aus…
