Pardon refused for Schapelle Corby

I read on sky news thismorning that the president of indonesia has been quoted as saying indonesia refuses to give a presidential pardon to any drug smuggler and that schapelle will be carrying out her 20 year sentance :thumbdown

 

the way things are looking, the courts decision to give her 20 years is going to stand, if the indonesians give the prosecutors what they want (life imprisonment) they'll look like they are corrupt and if they set her free, they'll look like they are sympathetic to drug smugglers, so basically they are just going to wait for things to blow over and just let things stay the way they are....

 

just like any other problem a government has, there is always a bigger one coming sooner or later which will make the public forget about the older problems, its just a matter of time and the indonesians are waiting for it to happen...

 

i bet that after schapelle's appeal is rejected (i know i shouldnt jump to conclusions but she is in a bali court after all) that even the australian news doesnt cover her story at all :thumbdown they might give an update once a month or so to say that she is still trying to get out but the story is going "cold" and i highly doubt we'll hear that much more about schapelle

its not as though the government is doing enough for her. why, if our governments have so much power dont we just demand her release. Its not as though the indonesians can do shit then. And if not that then send in a commando team to smuggle her out of the country.

To much money coming from Indonesia aye... Don't forget the counts are barbaric as hell, look what happened in Timor, if our government did send a commando unit over there and they got caught... their fait would be worse than death. poor shappelle
