I find this quite humourous actually...

 

Sometime around Christmas, a friend gave us some seeds so we figured what the hell, and planted them. They were all of a dark brown colour and one was black and shiny, not sure if that's relevant to much but I put it out there.

After what seemed like forever, one sprouted and is now a little over 2ft in height and is doing it's "thing" quite nicely. Nothing happened in the other pots, so we wrote them off. Weeks later and a tiny sprout pops up, grows to about an inch, turns yellow and just stops. We gave them no extras, just year old potting mix in big pots, basically leaving them on their own.

So I wrote off this wee plant as dead because of the colour and lack of growth. More time goes by until about three weeks ago when I noticed this little thing had started to sprout more!

Now, it's about three inches high, three inches in diameter, has a few really thick and strong dark green leaves, and is actually thick with crystals.

 

Does anyone have a possible explanation, perhaps an idea on what kind of smoke it might be?

basically what happened was the plant sprouted and started to flower straight away...

 

if u can keep the plant alive untill the buds are formed and the crystals have gone a milky-amber colour then u might actually have a decent smoke but chances are that the plant wont be that great a smoke :thumbdown

The black seeds can be from a/ a strain thing, I had a strain years ago that gave jet black seeds.

 

It can also be from the seeds being over ripe, and this can lower the chances of germination etc.

 

what wantachronic said sounds right too.
