How to know when to Pick the Buds ?

when do you know to Pick the Buds ?

 

My plants i think a mid way through flowering but how do i know to pick them at their peak potency ?

an easy way is to go of fthe hairs , once about 75 -80 % of the hairs have changed from white , start your flush

 

a more precice way is to go off the thrics , in this case , you want a 70/30 cloudy /clear mix generally

Depending on the type of smoke you want bro, most people these days want to be couched locked carnt move off the lounge - which is not what THC does to you. The chmical that does that is CCD.

 

To get that really stoned smoke effect leave the buds go untill all the hairs have turned red (most commerical op's do this to maxo the weight)

 

To get the good mixture of max THC with a little CCD then about 70% off the hairs turned brown

 

To have only THC then harvest when about 20% have turned brown.

 

In the above example you can harvest 3 different buds off the same plant and they will smoke up totally different. Try it next time you grow

 

To do professionally you need a mag light loop 40X - you can actually see the mushrom heads chance colour.

How much are these Maglite Loops?

 

I was just having a cruise through ebay and found "Brand New Illuminated 50 - 80x Portable Microscope" for $27.01 (buy it now price) +$5.50P&P and they look like they could do the job. There are other models/brands with different specs and prices but these are the cheapest and fit the bill nicely.

 

I am seriously thinking of buying one unless anyone knows any good reasons why they are no good for the job.

Thanks. lense are the way to go for sure.

Too many other things can cause hairs to change colour before they are ready.

 

They look really good mate, especially with the light because HID tendd to make the trichomes look different to what they really are. :scratchin

 

That same seller has loupes also, thats what I use but that one you like looks better.

I had a look through the loops too but they are all 10x or 20x so i figure the portable microscopes would be better.
