Police drug buys

QUEENSLAND police have spent more than $320,000 on drugs for undercover operations, a report showed yesterday.

The committee that oversees police operations reported to State Parliament yesterday that undercover officers spent $321,015 on drugs.

The purchases included 1550 tablets of ecstasy, 19 grams of methylamphetamine, 17 grams of heroin, 1.6kg of amphetamines and 13kg of cannabis.

Officers also seized almost $150,000 in cash, four properties, an aircraft and vehicles totalling more than $240,000.

$320,000 of taxpayer's gone to drugs.... fucking crazy! They must be having a big Pre-Xmas Party! :B):

I assume once they "spend" it, they bust the dealer and get it back?

Expenses.

$321,015 on drugs, several hundreds of thousands on hidden costs like wages, vehicle costs, travel, accommodation, payouts to informers, etc., court costs, free legal aid to the defendants, free board and lodging for those convicted.

Profits.

$390,000 in confiscated cash and property and a heap of drugs that can't be legally sold to recoup the money.

Somehow I can't seem to see how the books balance, maybe a really creative accountant could make it look like the taxpayer is benefiting here, but I doubt it.

America has spent over half a TRILLION dollars on their 'War against Drugs' over the years

Question: What do they have to show the taxpayers for it ?

Answer: The highest drug abuse rate ever in the history of America and one of the biggest drug trading countries in the world.

Question: What kind of an xample does this set for the rest of the world ?

Answer: Aparently a good one because everyone is following the trend of pouring money down the toilet

i don't blame alot of people for drug dealing really, when you think about it they're the people not paying for the war against drugs, on the contrary their reaping total tax free benifits PLUS still claiming money off the government while the rest work their asses off paying for the rest of the 'gainfully' unemployed while drug dealers & not so legal entrepreneurs are keeping their money.

why is it that whichever way you look at things the taxpayers are the ones bending over and getting fucked in the ass and the government is watching it happen ? it's almost forseeable that the government is on the same side as the 'undesired' element.
