Crickets

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

all my outdoor girls are being eaten by ? crickets.

I cant see any critters on my poor girls but they are being chewed up badly.

Any advice please AAAGGGHHHH

Mick

Try spraying it with a bit of Neem oil if it hasn't gone into flowering. That usually fixes things for me. Any pic would be a great help though Mick. Edited by Stumper

do you have any lights on outdoors , that would attract them

yeah neem def worth a go

garlic sprays are supposed to be effective but i'm thinking it's a environment thing not just a canna plant thing

if it is effective you might have to spray very regularly to try & control cos your plants are prob just a byproduct

of them feasting on something else nearby

adding sprays of aloe vera & or kelp meal steeped tea & making a compost or castings extract will help build

plant immunity

light depping plants might at least give the plants a break from them

good luck mate

Put something else in there for them to eat

Put a plastic bottle over them at night

Crushed eggs shells and coffee granules around plants

Snails won't cross the egg shell , slugs hate coffee

Sea salt around the perimeter, snails or slugs won't cross

Plant some dill around the edges of plants ,

Heaps more

Dishwasher detergent and water spray

neem oil , good

https://www.organicgardeningsolutions.com.au/products/emulsified-neem-oil

neem & karanja oil , better

https://www.drgreenthumbs.com.au/products/organic-neem-oil ( looks like you'll need an emulsifier for this )

The Karanja Tree and The Neem Tree are very similar and the odor is slightly milder with

Karanja and the oil is a little bit easier to pour at room temperature.

Karanja Oil is used in agriculture and pharmacy just like neem oil. It has similar insecticidal properties

as neem oil and acts against a number of pests and insects. It is pale yellow in colour and viscous. It is

known for its medicinal and antiseptic properties for centuries in its naive India.

There are plagues of them getting around. .all over the world atm.

Apparently your not alone..

The farmers were scaring the crickets away with noise..

I think Neem will work .. or a chilli mix in a sprayer.
