Nine people will face court after police conducted an investigation into a cannabis syndicate in the Northern and Barossa areas.
Between 17 June and 24 July, following an investigation, Barossa CIB with the assistance of police from York Mid North and Northern District CIB conducted numerous searches across the Northern suburbs and country areas uncovering what they believe is a cannabis syndicate running primarily from Barossa Valley.
It is believed that the group was collectively growing and distributing the cannabis. As a result of these searches, police seized 81 cannabis plants, approximately 7.5kg of dry cannabis and electrical equipment including lighting used in cultivating cannabis.
Nine people have been arrested and charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of cannabis, trafficking a large commercial quantity of cannabis along with various other associated offences. They were all bailed to appear in court at a later date.
