keep in mind fruit & veg are mostly water , clackamascoot mentions this 

why he doesn't use kitchen scrapes when making castings , not that you 

shouldn't use kitchen scrapes you just need to add lots of other ingredients 

to get enough nutrients in his opinion 

that Glen Rabenburg says some interesting things in regard to no till & applying

mulch to the top of the soil & anaerobic vs aerobic situations

Been following him for years, he follows the plan of less is more. He has been cropping large amounts of marketable vegetables for 30 - 40 years in uk and france on small plots of lans packed full. his mantra is compost as a mulch once per year thats it, he makes his own compost. 

 

Shows what a good bit of compost and garden management can accomplish.

yep interesting guy Frank , he has a very different environment to here in oz though 

he def has made his tech work abundantly well & passing his experience forward 

to other growers is pretty cool
