Cheaper alternative to bottled PK

Recommended Posts

canna PK13/14 is 0-10-11

would it be bad to mix professors nutrients extreme boost slightly higher at 1/3 to get 0-18-10.6 ?

would the extra P cause problems?

this would work well for clones at clones specific ppms with the higher p for root dev as recommended by a grow book i read.

i guess you would have to look at the whole line up of grow/bloom or a + b of professors nutrients vs canna and see if the base nutrients of professors nutrients compensate with extra K, compared to the a+b of canna to see if it is a real different in total nutes combined

been using professors extreme boost @ 1.6g per 60L for all of this flowering, all 10 weeks, fuck it

running at 1/3 strength which brings the PK in at 18/10.6

doing the math 500g / 1.6g = 312 / 10 (weeks flower) = 31 grows = 31 / 3 (3 grows per year) = 10.3 years for $40

running different plants from when i was running canna PK13/14 so i cannot really judge the difference

Shit my dodgy stoner math failed haha

It's meant to be 0.16g per Liter of water, I was basically giving the plants basically no extra PK

Fixed it and within 1 day they all threw heaps of new bright white pistols

Full strength mix ratio is 2g per 4L = 0.5g per L

For a 60L res the math works out really well

0.5 / 4 * 60 = 7.5g - 1/4 str - 0-13-8

0.5 / 3 * 60 = 10g - 1/3 str - 0-18-10

0.5 / 2 * 60 = 15g - 1/2 str - 0-27-16

0.5 / 1 * 60 = 30g - full str - 0-54-32

10g divides really nicely into 1L bottles

100g per 1000ml water, this gives 1g per 10ml

75ml per 60L - 1/4 str

100ml per 60L - 1/3 str

150ml per 60L - 1/2 str

300ml per 60L - full str

I'm just going to run it 1/3 str for 3-4 weeks per run

Going on 100g makes 1L means a 500g tub makes 5L

5000ml / 100ml = 50 weeks worth

50 / 4 weeks per run = 12.5 runs

12.5 / 3 runs per year = 4.1 years

$40 / 4.1 = $9.59 a year or

$40 / 12.5 = $3.2 per run

PK13/14 makes a difference, everyone agrees already

I dont think Extreme Boost would make a massive difference the way they advertise it

Diluting it and using as a PK booster is what I'm doing

When I used the correct 1/3 dose, the next day I seen new bright white pistols everywhere when they were turning brown, they are grown more since

No tnuc knows when to use it tho lol

Could just run it all 8 weeks at 1/3 str 0-18-10

A $40 500g tub would last 2 years :D

PK boosters crack me up. I understand why soil and semi organic folks use it during bloom but I don't understand why a hydro bloom nutrient would be short on PK in the first place. It's suppose to be a high PK mix.

Most Bloom A+B are around 1-5-4, if you want high PK you need a booster

All lines recommend a PK13/14 booster ranging from 2 weeks to the whole grow

It's cheap and works, no reason not to use it
