What am I doing wrong

I'm having no luck with germination this year. I Was give some fem seeds, done exactly the same as previous years, glass of water, seed drops to bottom and then onto moist paper towel. Only one sprouted and then it died in the pod. Any suggestions, this is Capricorn coastal.

need to keep the water you soak them in at a stable temp

Could be crap seeds. It happens if they are old. However Sounds like too wet or too dry. Once they pop you shouldn’t see them stall. If so they’re dead. At that point take note of your paper towel. Is it overly wet, dry, hot, or cold? One of them is your issue. Stable temp is critical

I really think it was temp. It's been very cool overnight at times.

I Chuck mine in an Esky with a beer brewing heater I got off eBay. Cheap af and nice and warm

Try damp not wet paper towel, with beans wrapped inside , in zipbag with a little air sealed in the zip bag, put zip bag, on top of hot water system.
