WTF! organic soil hydroponics?

maybe this has been discussed before but i just found this.

 

going to give this a crack and do a side by side, outdoor in 5 or 10ltr buckets with organic soil and hydroton.

 

 

 

anyone else had a crack at this method for organic soil?

You can do it. Will it have issues, for sure, there will be heaps of bugs to iron out if DIY. If you have the time and patience go for.it.

keen to give it a crack!

 

just started some hempy buckets outside and wanted some aeration so the outdoor solar air pumps will fill that void but may as well simply use hydroton in solid buckets and see how often i will need to change the nutrient water... then i guess it will simply be an outdoor dwc [but with the total volume of bucket filled with hydroton] as opposed to hempy..

 

i'll study up and watch a few more of ol' mates vids... he seems very confident that this shit works for organic soil grows...

How would the roots hold onto the soil if its bubbling with water a bigger plant would just fall over.

yeh, it's all new to me... the side by side in the vid seems to do alright tho for smaller plants. maybe just tie off the main stem at 3 points to the pot for bigger plants if they want to tip over...?

the yard plants in smaller pots are watered every day so shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

 

just need to use the correct sized pot so a plant has plenty of food to finish without having to add any organic ferts and just top up with water...

 

that's my thinking at this stage anyway...
