Ladybugs... are they all good?

Ok so i need to get some ladybugs but the ones I was planning on taking from the garden are eating the leaves of the cabbage they are on. I'm assuming they will eat my plants and they aren't actually ladybugs... is this possible. Ill try get pics of them

Yeah there's good n bad, if it's black with 28 orange spots , no good

Yeah i just learnt all about them thanks. I'm keen to still collect the good ones for the future incase and maybe try and get some green lacewings.

I caught one in the garden on a rose plant put her in on the girl and a few days later she was 4 times the size than never to be seen again the pest were all eatin

I love any coloured lady bugs in my plants. As far as I know they only eat other insects. I have never heard or read of them eating plants. They will clean up spider mites and other plant destroying bugs that are small. I love to see them in/on my plants.

I purchased Lacewings about 10 years ago for a chronic aphid problem in my vege patch. When the order arrived it looked just like takeaway sauce containers filled with lawn clippings. At first I thought I must have been ripped off, but i spread the clippings among the vegies and within a week the aphids were gone. I haven't had an aphid problem in 10 years now, and my neighbours report the same

Try tomatoes leaves steeped in water over them , they really hate it , doesn't kill them but makes them move on

My old man had some magnificent roses, cloning a few now) and he did this morning and night and I never seen any aphids on them ever

I do it to mine , not as religious as he was about , but they piss off when sprayed

If I control the ants, beneficial insects thrive. Baby mantis and ladybugs aplenty......in my patch anyways seqld.
