Cantgrow
So every year I’m confused about when to start planting. (SE QLD)Got seeds from Southern Star.https://www.southernstarseeds.net/texas-guinanSounds dumb but is “flowering time” the time it takes to flower from seed...or...how long it flowers for after it reaches maturity

Cantgrow
I count from when buds appear. So if I germinate this week, is it too late? And how long does a plant take to reach a size where it will bud?
Serrated edge
I'm in Victoria and most plants are ready in April, Not too sure which month in Qld , others will know for sure. But that prob depends on what strain . Also It's not the size of the plant ,it's the decreasing daylight hours that trigger flowering ,,,unless you have autoflowers. Indycar
There's not much in it, SE. Most stuff appears to be wrapped up by late April in the Southern part of the State. Some long finishing satties can push into May. But to the subject of "Finishing Time" 10 or so years ago the general consensus was the moment you reduced the lighting to 12/12 or whatever. Though present day it seems to be as what SE mentioned, once the first sign of bud is forming. I'm guessing you'll be well and truly done by the end of April, Cantgrow. Probably closer to early to mid April more like it.
Cantgrow
So if I plant this week have I left it too late?
Ford Fairlane
you can plant all through spring and summer
rigman
Depends on how big you want your plants to be, unless as SE stated about auto's (massive outdoor trees may not be a great thing in Qld, harder to hide BIG plants). The earlier you plant (nearer to now) the bigger they will be before the daylight hours start dropping and the plants go into flower mode.
zeuss
Pretty much the same in SE Qld. doesn't matter when you plant them they will still all be ready early April, Now is a great time to start, you'll get some good wet periods to get them cranking. Bubblegum Bill
Like people have said the plant will flower as the season changes, not based on the maturity of the plant. You'll see some growers change to flower mode 12/12 straight from seedling. Which produces less bud but obviously faster production. So plant and see how big it gets before it's flowering time.
