For sure, might need to allocate a little more time on the lathe than what they give the kids to turn a bowl down.

 

Also, a little tip that may help. Turn/make the lid first before doing the base.

How did it come up micmac?

 

I just stained mine today and so far looking good will give it a light sand with fine sand paper and 1 more coat tomorrow once shes drys.

Love the grain on this one

Looking good micmac cant wait to see the end product.

 

What did you use to stain it? I went with raw linseed oil and will take a few coats.

I went for oil based stain as well

Traditional jarrah, with clear coat on top

I am get the jarrah putty to make top nice n smooth n u shouldn't notice it

I like yours as well , luv how u brought the grain out!

Nice wooden chest behind it as well
