That's so you can't hold them to anything. Nondescript = No obligations :D

Fellow horticultural enthusiasts,

Just got some pure worm castings online for $60 for 2 kgs

Can anyone advise whether best to mix into medium (coco, perlite, blood & bone)

Or more beneficial to make a tea and pour in from above,

No instructions on bag and pretty hopeless without them

Got no worm jokes

can do all that & then some , all pretty much beneficial

can mix in a soil mix , can make teas & you can also top dress

a very rough rule of thumb is castings have more food & compost

more life , now that's not hard & fast rule cos all comes down to how

they were made

$60 for 2kg seems expensive or did you mean 20kg

if you only have a small amount , making teas & top dressing will go allot further

than soil mixing

great interview with microbe man Tim Wilson  , this guy has done lots of testing of worm cast teas

that's cool , when you said shipping that made more sense to the price

castings prices are all over the shop , from $13 for 25lts to $20 for 15lts & $60 for 20lts

very hard to know what your buying , most important to look at is what there fed & they don't write that on the bag

really is better to make your own , the $13 ones where from a pig farm that also produce fishing worms , i asked about

food & was told " Pig Shit & Dry Dog Food , the $20 one was also a pig farm but they had ran the casting through a screen

so they looked pretty , i didn't ask about food , point is they all look mostly the same

a lill careful with words

worm juice most of the time refers to worm bin leachate aka worm wee = liquid that comes out the tap on the worm farm

i'm sure you mean worm tea , leave them separate , worm tea will have nutes in it as well

hard to predict how much of something else to add

could be great stuff but no way of knowing

most use composting to get rid of the garden crap

doesn't mean won't be any good because you made it ( if diy ) with the local soil life , indigenous microorganisms

but my thinking is , the ol story , shit in , shit out

still came out a worms butt so in general it's usually a benefit anyway it comes ,

qwobblers put me on to the worm bomb , could be good adding to a soil mix , maybe

... and should see them come to the surface once the ground is saturated after/during rain.

EDIT: Anyone know of any good threads here in regards to building your own worm farm?
