Vermicompost /wormtub

Vermicompost ....worm castings /worm fishing bait tub all in one 

 

Make two of them

 

Need

Old Tub usually free or easy to obtain

Bricks to sit it off the ground ..

You can dig a hole out under the plug spot to store a bucket which will catch the nutrients and worm tea when or if you flush them ...cheap free liquid feed.

 

Shopping bag or 3 of blue metal(build it the same day as the wicking beds and use what you buy for both)

Place blue metal over plug hole (NO PLUG)

Cover blue metal it jute fabric or weed mat to stop sediment blocking drain hole for drainage .

 

Then make layers of vege scraps clippings paper etc dry material and or spent manure and soil ....a couple of hand fulls of works ....make it south facing or shade after 10am ...and cut some old carpet or a cover for the top ...other wise the local birds and mice ,possums will love you .

 

 

Works well gets better with age  ...comfrey leaves are good starters .

Have it like i did under the shade of a big decidous tree this is an oak ..

Summer shade and winter sun ....and it protects it from direct sun and big rain events ....you want it moist and cool /damp....NOT WET.
