How to lower ph and make it higher

Anything around the house i can use to lower ph levelz. And how?

Vinegar and or cider vinegar will lower it but I don't think it stabiles too well ,may rise again .

Yeah, I tried vinegar once while waiting for a delivery of PH down, not stable I'm afraid.  So I make sure I always have PH down now.  On the odd fuck up occassion I've needed to raise it, I just chuck in some extra Silica which seems to do the trick.

i've heard of lemon juice being used to lower it as ph down is pretty strong, not sure about raising it. best to just get some ph up and down though it's not expensive compared to anything else you need to be successful.

As Mr E said bicarbonate soda for raising PH . Never tried it though .

 

But with shops open now chileanblend might have the right stuff today ?

Should work, dunno how much you'd need though. 

 

With PH down, there seems to be 2 main types, I think the one I use is phosphoric (not too sure about that without going for a look at the bottle), and the other is citric acid based.  The one I use is stronger and seems to be more stable in my experience, but if you're doing aquaponics you need to use the citric as it's gentle on the fishies, which incidentally is what I put on my fish in the form of above mentioned lemon juice, num nums.
