Welcome to OS lurch.

As to your questions...

1. no

2. no

3. no

The only way to tell the sex of an MJ plant is to have it flower for ya in one way or another. Either by taking clones of the young, vegging plants and then cloning them underneath a 12/12 light cycle, and then dumping the plants which match the clones which show as male.

Or you can just wait until they show it naturally as preflowers, this can take anything from 1 to 3 months in a vegetative light cycle, but it's far better for yeilds and overall flowering response to wait until the plant is sexually mature before flowering it out.

The sex of plants is decided before you plant them, at the time of fertilisation. Once that ovule in the female is fertilised by a piece of pollen, the resulting mix between them decides the sex then and there. All you can do is grow em out.

So no, there's no way to alter the sex of seeds, before or after germination. There is only one exception, and that's in stressing a female to hermie. And even then you're not really changing sex of the plant, just expressing through some factor hermie traits that are already latent in the seed.

There is a better way of growing out though, and that's to source or take your own good female clones. These will always be girls, cos ya took em from a girl, and they'll always be ready to flower, as they've already gone through all the vegetative phase as a branch on a seed-grown plant. Course, you'll have to select a mum first, and that means growing out seeds at least once, but you can also buy them from some places, and clone growing indoors is really the best way to go IMO.

Hope that helps mate, and once again, welcome to Oz Stoners.
