Jewelers Loupe intensity?

Hey all

 

Just remembered I had some money left of my pay and go credit card, so I was thinking of getting my self either a jewelers loupe or some little digital scales.

 

So the question do I need 30x or 60x intensity?

hey Torri, I use 40X and it does the job, shows trich glands very well.

Hey Torrie,

Jewellers loupes are usually a set magnification. You can get some loupes that have two lenses and with the two lenses you can have 3 set magnifications. The problem being if you wanted to look at a small bug, varying focus is not possible with a loupe. Instead of a loupe I use a small pocket microscope, like this http://www.carson.com/microscopes/pocket-microscopes/1235-mm-200. It has an adjustable focus, adjustable magnification and a small light next to the lens to illuminate the object you are viewing. Its great for looking at the bud whilst the bud is still on the plant.

I have just bought simply 60x loupe and I am happy. I guess it will be enough for me.
