Commercial Marijuana Grower Needed

Recommended Posts

I personally would not get involved until you had the licenses and permits especially in qld. Even just discussing and planning such a project would be considered conspiring to setting up an illegal drug operation, syndicate under vlad and other anti gang drug laws.

It will be interesting to see if Lucy Haslam can get permits licenses for her planned grow operation in NSW.

Guys, thanks for the comments.  I knew there would be a lot of "haters" as in general the cannabis community seem to be against anything that is not "home grown and organic".  Unfortunately the legislation coming through will not allow small growers to either be licensed or profitable based on the contracts that the various Australian states have been using for the last several months.  I am sure many of you will comment, but if you don't know the name of the QLD companies who are months into builds for government sanctioned grows of 1,500 - 3,000 plants (contracts signed months before public announcement) chances are you have not seen a contract and will not know what you are talking about. I hate to say it but your worse fears are going to be realized when it comes to becoming a small boutique supplier.

Just to clarify we are not after anyone to do anything for free, however pre production we can not pay a wage and have to offer equity. Our preference however was to have a facility built to our head growers specifications as everyone has there own unique styles and preferences.  We have been in discussions with commercial US growers and consultants but thought we would look closer to home to see what talent was available.

Our business is as close to a collective as you can get and incorporates a non profit component to assist those without the means to secure oils etc.  but these things can't happen day one.

As a final note, I do actually highly regard growers and am aware that without the right head grower we will not succeed (you guys are geneticists, artist, botanist, horticulturalists & farm managers) the same way that I know growers without the capital, specialists and management teams will struggle to get licensed.

I haven't seen any 'hating' in the comments in this thread. All I have seen is people pointing out that you have a lot to learn about business in general let alone the Cannabis industry.

Your current goals are unrealistic but I wish you the best in your endeavours. It is clear why you wish to be involved in the industry and it may be a better option for you to put up the cash and let someone with the proper experience and know how set up your business.

No one is hating anything here, it's just that this kind of thing needs to be done very carefully with State Government consultation and some kind of legal framework, so no one inadvertently gets themselves in the shit.

There are already cashed up companies still trying to get some kind of permit or license just to get trials started in Australia for growing cannabis.

I thought licensing had to be based on the size of the farm needed to get a desired yield and nothing to do with plant numbers?  That's pretty much what the UN's convention on narcotics says is needed for it anyway.  If our government is retarded enough to go down the plant numbers route which they only use to put us over barrels it's seriously going to hamper the legal farmer's ability to maximise the use of their land which really goes against common sense but infinitely so when it comes to medicinal crops where price will be an issue and that's not even getting started on how limiting that'll be on a genetics level for finding medicinal lines to grow in the first place or pheno hunting them once found.

I know governments can be stupid but for the sake of those truly in need of the medicine that can't self supply I really hope ours hasn't gone full retard like that on them :(

lookinggoodguys, Thanks for the feedback.  We are aware of the hurdles facing this industry, that is why we do have corporate lawyer, government consultant and accountants on board which have allowed us to progress.  sorry I may have also failed to mention that our initial production is technically high CBD "Hemp" (<1% THC).

You should have outlined more detailed info in your first post. I'm still a little confused what you are trying to grow for what purpose CBD oil, or fiber.

You should get in contact with Tony Bower Mullaway Medical cannabis https://www.facebook.com/Mullaway if you are seeking someone for producing oil.

I think he has been helping a mob down in Victoria with their trials.

He knows too well the legal ramifications of trying to get his product legal with the State Government.

It seems more information from the OP is needed, are you planning to have an outdoor hemp crop as well as indoor crops for producing CBD oil?

As I would have suggested America, would be a wealth of information at this point. I'm not sure there would be many large scale cannabis growers in Australia not linked to crime syndicates and not in it to growing solely to produce a quantity of product disregarding any quality issues. Have you looked towards the current Agriculture industry for advice?
