Elimination is rarely possible once an infestation has happened. Best thing is to prevent them before they start. Ensure that all your intakes to your growroom are screened, pantihose do a good job, and don't let there be any way for the little buggers to get in.

On top of this, keep the area clean of plant matter and debris, and keep yourself clean before you visit the growroom. Don't go touching your mite infested outdoor lavender and then go into the growroom afterwards, cos I can practically guarantee that you'll end up with mites in your GR.

If you do get a pest attacking your plants, like caterpillars, whitefly, mites, aphids or many of the other creatures which find MJ appetising, you'll have to first find out what it is that is damaging the plants, and try and take the appropriate action. Without knowing what you've got, you're just groping in the dark.

A magnifying glass and a microscope are very useful for identifying tiny pests like mites and sciarid fly or shore fly larvae. If you can capture the offending little bugger which is affecting the plants, and identify it, you should be able to find something in the pests and diseases forum here about how to control those particular pests.

Don't forget that not all insects are bad, and insecticides can remain in plants for long periods of time. If your purpose in growing your own is to ensure a safe, reliable supply of good, chemical free as possible buds, then you'll want to use as few harsh or long lasting pesticides as possible. There are many ways to kill or deter insects which don't involve man made chemicals. You can use natural insecticides, (although just because it's "natural" or "organic", doesn't necessarily mean that it's "safe" for you, you should always do research on these things yourself to ensure that you know what you're using) or companion planting, keeping plants isolated from insects like I suggested initially is also a good method, and some even utilise other insects as predators to keep populations of pests down to minimal or even tiny levels.

Hope that's helped gilly, good luck. lol
