Skinny stems

Recommended Posts

My plants are very long and stringy, the stems arent as fat as other stems that i see in the pics.

My biggest one is 10 and a half inches tall and the stem is skinny is that a bad thing? If so how do i get it to be thicker?

How do u get your plants to be short and stalky?

Sorry for so many questions

.

Thanks.

This means your light is too far away from the plants, what type of light are you using, you should also have an oscillating fan.

It would help if you give us a full description of your grow set-up.

Sounds like the light may be a bit far away. Also, what's your ventilation like? If you have a fan or 2, it gets the air circulating around your plants, similar to what they'd get outside naturally. The stems tend to thicken, they toughen up against the wind basically.......makes them a bit stronger lol

keep the cf's close to the plants real close bout 2 inches off the tops maybe closer feel for heat with your hand keep the fan on them all the time it will help toughen stems as chev said, plant stretch is mostly from the light being to far away, nutes more then likely wont help u either, lower the light and keep and eye on it, plants wont grow to crazzily like under fluros anyways so u should be able to keep raising light before burning starts..
