harvesting while lights on or off

Recommended Posts

I found a couple of interesting pieces of info.

In the 1970s, Dr Carleton Turner at the University of Mississippi found that there was a variation in the amount of THC in a sample, depending upon the time that the plant was taken. The most potent point was just before dawn after nighttime darkness.

Then, in 2000, Dr Paul Mahlberg of Indiana University showed that THC was produced extracellularly, on the inside of the glandular membrane, which would allow for its daily recycling... :greedy:

Got any figures on that? 'A variation' doesn't mean it's a significant amount.

I haven't seen any evidence in my growroom of lights on or off harvesting making any noticeable difference. Of course I don't do any kind of analytical testing of my harvest.

No, but I did try to find out more, even tried the Mississippi university (online) but I don’t have a student account.

I know they are only small excerpts from two separate studies, but they both conclude that the best time to harvest would be at dawn or start of 12/12.(start of the light cycle)

I have no idea how much of a difference it would make, hence, I spent a fair while looking, would like to know myself.

I doubt we could tell the difference without technology.

For example:

I can’t tell you the alcohol content of home brew by its type/taste or effect.

But there is a fairly large range in what it can contain.

There would also be a range in THC content, even within the same strain of plant, separate seeds, same conditions/

harvest time.

........ :greedy:

Do you have the titles of the articles the excerpts are from?
