nute burn or overwatered? help please

Recommended Posts

Stacked OG Kush in soil and 20% perlite.  Using Montys Organic Fertiliser and Wise Wallys Superfeed [worm fertiliser].

She is showing leaves curling downwards and tip burns.  Leaf curling seems to be confined towards the bottom of the plant.

2 other plants, Grapefruit and Skunk #1 showing none of these problems.

I flushed yesterday with about 5L water because I assumed it was nute burn, now I'm wondering if it's not overwatered in which case I've probably exacerbated the problem!

Photos aren't great cause its bloody windy here today.  Any advice welcome.

loui .....Yep, overfed... seeing as you have flushed already, I'd just leave her to dry off and then wait until you see some yellowing at the bottom of the plant before feeding again.

Agree a   bad  case of nutrient "lock out"  ...  a decent flush then wait .... you will loose some leaves, well  things  will get  worse  before  they get better so  try to  remember that when  you  seem to  feel they are "out  cold"........ I  would not   feed   until I  saw  the massive  sheding of leaves all  the toxified leaves committ "Hurry Curry"   then  the   new  groth  appearing.   A balance  of   the  right  Ph and   just  a   bit of water is   what  those plants   want most.

Grow well Grasshopper

Thanks Pegz, Buzzo, Louise and Nitty for your advice.  It seems I've committed the classic error of new growers trying to give 'em too much love.

I'll stick to PH adjusted water until she picks up again.  And try not to make the same mistake with the other two!

Cheers.

Hey mate have u considered potting up and into a plastic tub instead of metal. IMO the plant looks as if the roots are getting too hot from being too close to the sides in the soil. If this is not the case now it will happen when it starts to warm up, when I grew my bushie it was in an old tin bin in the middle of summer the sides of that bin were so hot I would have to pour cold water on the sides to cool the metal. If u can't help using metal try cover it with shade some how or paint the metal white to reflect heat.

Thanks Haze.  They are actually in plastic airpots - a bit of an experiment to see how they go.  And with the temps we've been having lately it would be a struggle to get hot anywhere!  Before I put a heater in the tent the temp was only getting to 20 degrees with the light on!

The plant has definitely picked up in the last 2 days - has grown significantly although the very tips of the new leaves are still burnt.
