The photos reminded me of the scenes around Griffith in the early 1970's, with the weed amongst the vines.

 

They never used to cull the males (they only cared about weight) so the weed was unbelievably seedy and far from high quality.

 

Glad those days are gone forever for me.

This is what happens when you rent a vineyard as a front for your cannabis operation and then don't tend the vines.

 

The unpruned, unharvest vines (covered in black spot, I might add) at the front of property were a dead giveaway that something other than grape growing was happening.

Between 4000 and 6000 almost-mature plants, which police said could fetch about $18 million on the street, were growing under the neglected vines in a 35-hectare property just outside of Cheshunt.
