should i grow inside first under lights for couple weeks until there 6"(15cm) then transplant out side i thimk i'm going to grow 3 or 4 to start. what chemicals should i use i don't want to spend to much money so man made would be good. aslo what type of light is good cos i don't have much money. thanx Mc Bong-on

Outdoors is not an option for people in Melbourne (dont know about the other states) but the light period in melbourne is getting shorter. When marijuana plants get 12 hours darkness theres some chemical reaction in its life that tells it to start FLOWERING. Soo if you live in another part of the world that just started summer, I would not advise growing outdoors.

what type of light is good ?

That depends on the kind of space you have to grow in, Most people say you should have 50watts per square foot ... but i say get a light that will satisfy your weed habbit. Hydroponic growing is basically trying to give what MOTHER NATURE gives to the plants outdoors. All the nutrients (chemical) for hydroponic growing are not man made, they have been dug out of mines and purified in factorys (the same process that GOLD goes thru). Indoor growing was designed so you can give the plant whatever the plant wants when it needs it, outdoor plants only feed off the nutirients in the soil when its there. I strongly diss-agree when people assume OUTDOOR GROWING YIELDS MORE that INDOORs. If you can identify the problems your plant has and cure its sumptom than your one step closer to playing god. Have a think about how much space you have and how many plants do you want to grow for yourself and every other thing that is associated with indoor growing, then you can ask yourself what kind of lighting should i use.

thanx man, i only want to grow out side cos i don't have too much room at my house so i want to start them of in side then transplant them out side. i live in south west sydney also how long does it take a plant to grow and produce buds. thanks Mc Bong-on

There are two stages of growth in marijuana plants (vegetation & flowering). Most growers give their plants 20 light 4 hours darkness (20/4) or 18 hours light and 6 hours darkness (18/6), They increase the darkness untill it gets to 12 hours darkness (then the plant starts to flower)
