Electronic ballast

Hi guys I know someone can help, I am in new territory here, I have bought a coolray air cooled reflecter with a 600w Son T tube, cooled by a canna fan.fed with, I think its a growlush electronic ballast with 60,80 and 110% taps, in the very basic instruction book it said it will also drive HID. My question is;

Does the HID bulb have to be 600w or can it be 400w? Also I know it might seem dumb but do I need 600w for vedging? I just want to buy the right bulb. I have given the led the arse after useing HPS on the last grow and now want to kill this next grow, not literaly of course. I have a 1.2x1.2x2.0 mtr tent and 2 extractor fans and filters.

Hi Billy I couldnt get that site but I found heaps of info on MH, it seems to be the go for veg it puts out less lumens per watt than HPS so I suppose I should go for the 600w and derate it to start then increase power as they grow. The seeds are only just cracking now I hope, the vision AK47auto was out the blocks first followed by the vision herer fem, but the swazi safari are still not open I have just started soaking my last SS seeds to try and get a runner, I think they may be old stock I had the same problem the last time I tried them. The vision seeds crack open inside 12hrs soaking but I am not crazy about the strains they are strong but not special so far.

if your digi ballast is 600w than 600w lamps will go in it. it should spark bith MH And HPS. definitely will do MH conversion. I dont think you can run lower watt lamps, you just dimm it.

Thanks meddle your right I did some more research on the web and thats exactly what I have to do.On another note I cant understand the swazi safari seeds I have they crack poke their tails out and stop. thats two packs of ten all have done the same thing. all the other seeds are 100%, I have lsd,jack herer,silver haze and ak47 auto all sprouted no prob all in the same humidi box.  Just a bad batch or very old, I thought I saw a date stamp on the box 2006, and maybe not stored well its got me stumped.

I've had the same thing happen with old seeds and seeds that haven't quite matured.

Hi Naycha thank god I was beginning to think I was looseing my sanity, they are very small seeds I just thought it was the strain, they also looked very dry. The other seeds I have all look plump and fresh, I guess I will not have any swazi this year. I was looking forward to the sweat pine taste, still I now have a 600w hps/mh for this next grow so I am realy pumped up.
