Hi JJ

One thing I know I do wrong is not having the lights close enough, the last lot of plants stretched to buggery, could this also have something to do with the small bud size???

Thanks for your help

just having a quick look , youve got a pretty big grow area and not enough light for it . I would go add 2 x 600w hps to the setup , keep the other 2x 400w also . keep the lights within 30-60cm from the plants depending on heat . air cooled reflectors help getting lights closer.

you will probably have to beef up your extraction and swap out the inline for a centrifugal to cope with all the extra heat .

Ok, so a 2m x 2m x 2m tent needs the 2 400wers alredy in there and another 2 600wers,.......... mate you trippin balls. You did take a look at the light calculator in cannaversity yeah? it's pretty spot on.

Running excessive light without CO2 is a waste of money and will just cause heat problems and excessive bills, and can actual affect yield, not increase it.

2 x 400wers in that area (2m x 2m) is fine seen as 400w is optimum for a 1m x 1m area, 600w for 1.2m x 1.2m area.

End transmission. peace. Nibbler.

All you can do is give it a shot. Everyone will tell you what works best but if we dont play around with new technology then nothing will ever change. Yes LED might not give the yeilds that HPS/HID do but if you want to grow with it then you will find a way that you are happy with :) Nugs might not be as dense but still as potent!!

cannaversity calulator says we need 1724 watts optimum and would not require c02 or maximum of 2586 watts requiring extra c02

minimum lighting is 1077.5 watts

so would need a minimum of 1 more 400w and atleast another 2x400w to get close to the optimum suggested by cannaversity , 600w will get passed it.

remember he has 4x the area of 1x1 tent running 1 400w . thats 4x400w for the same light intensity.

I'm a small petty man in a lot of ways Bluntman, but first to admit I'm wrong if thats the case..... I'm wrong. The light calculator does indeed say 1700w is optimal for a 2m x 2m tent, so I apologize to you Sir, for raggin ya.

......And I spent most of me time in maths class lookin at boobies...hence my inability to work out Cubic meters in me head.lol ... Peace. Nibbler.

no probs man!

Thanks for all your input, I think the grow tent is really a bit bigger than I need, (I got it on special a couple of years ago, it was cheaper than 1x1x2 thought I was getting a good deal!!!) I only grow 4 plants at a time as that's all I have the bucket set up I have, so to solve the problem of not enough light for the area, I'm thinking that I may partition it off and make it more 1x1x2. If I partitioned it off with the white plastic, would that do the trick? I don't really want to go for more lighting
