feminizing with Colloidal silver

Recommended Posts

G`day Zues

No 1st hand exp here .

Though I have studied STS a bit over a cpl of years . One factor I have seen is the reversed plant doesnt shed its pollen as easily . [The balls are more tightly stacked and are often nanna like rather than a true male flower] . Removing the male flowers and teasing out the pollen seems to be a good tech .

From my exp with fem seeds they can be very much alike to their parents but rarely have the vigour of an F1 .

Hope that fills in some gaps .

Thanks for sharin

Hi Louise, The main reason i am wanting to do it myself is because i can, well i hope i can, i get a lot of pleasure doing things myself and somrtimes even saving a few dollars in the process, the other reason is i have seen a lot of conflicting info to do with the strength of the stuff on the shelves and it seems to be a weaker solution, also it seems to have a shelf life and looses its potency after a while, if i make it fresh that shouldn't be an issue.. The metre of .999 silver i have brought only cost around $10.00 so it won't be hard to recoup the cost.

Thanks for the interest..

Howdy Elmer,,that's a good bit of info thankyou mate. now that you mention it i do seem to remember somewhere in the hordes of info i have been reading that mentions about this, i think they ground the dried up pollen balls and removed the husks and then painted on the pollen with a tiny paintbrush.. Guess i will find out soon enough, i have just got home from the hydro shop and brought the bits and pieces i need to get some clones happening so i'll get onto that this arvo and hopefully can get something happening, this is all new to me also but looks simple enough, i've only ever grown from seed, why i have never cloned before i have no idea, it's the obvious way to not have to deal with the heartbreak of pulling beautifull looking males out of the ground..

Cheers Mate

I am doing some cloning later today so hopefully should be able to get this underway pretty soon, i'll let the new clones sit under 18/6 flouros untill they get rootin then throw them into the tent with the 3 i still have in there, might have to build a shelf or something to get them up to the light level and get some small buds happening, that should be enough to find if this works..

Have a great day folks..

Ok i have just finished my first attempt at cloning, No idea if they will root but fingers crossed i can get half a doz or so to work with, I will attach a couple of pics to liven the thread up a bit. Can anyone tell me if they look ok? i havn't got a heat mat but it is in Qld so is still fairly warm, also i am not sure if i should leave the lid on or not, with the lid off the twin flouro light can get about 6 inches closer to the lil girls.. Any suggestions? should i buy a heat mat? maybe i should ask in another thread in a more appropriate area?

Cheers

Z
