Son-T-Agro Vs Son-T-Plus

Recommended Posts

I would agree there the plus would probably better used in conjunction with a retrofit metal halide for veg and just used for flowering but they still give a decent veg I used an old one I was given and it worked fine but the plants never look quite as green and spritely as they do under metal halide or a good bank of fluoros or compact flouros.

I registered just to find info about the Son-t Plus and the Son-t Agro and I've found so much trash....

please, I beg ya, stop saying the Son-t Plus is a 600 watt lamp because it's also a 400 watt lamp. And how do I know that? I HAVE ONE!

after 4 pages of talking, most of people say is a difference of wattage (and that's wrong) others say one is better in flowering and others say one is not better in flowering. So we haven't found nothing till now.

G-R-E-A-T!

Where is the dude?

Hello Rohald,

i spend some time searching for the discreption for the bulbs by phillips... their sites are a mess... they are pretty useless...

Here is what i think i know:

Son-T Agro are HPS that have a strong red spectrum, a specialist for flowering.

Son-T Plus are HPS with added blue spectrum, more the allrounder, not as good for flowering as the specialist.

I know that my son-t agro 400 is a 430W bulb (or was it 423W?), they do not comply with the ANSI standard and need a stronger ballast than the standard S51 for 400W HPS to perform at their maximum...

Still searching for some official documentation.... later

my two cents is that you are heaps better off with 20-30% blue light in a cannabis flore room and the rest HPS, the extra blue light will cause the flore to go for a week or two longer and thus you have alot bigger buds - if you want to finish the flore quicker go for straight HPS with no MH at all ie - SOG grow - but for most people adding a MH light to there HPS flore room will give greater returns, more tighter buds and higher THC levels

The more stress a plant has the quicker it will try to finish its cycle - and result is allways reduced yeild and potancy

now if one of the phillips lights had a 30% blue spectrum then it would be the ultimate flore light for stress free growing. IMHO
