Cannabutter ?

Recommended Posts

Guest billy bonger

Pipeman has pinned a thread on canna butter in General THC cooking that should explain all, it's my understanding though that the long the butter is cooked the more THC comes out into the butter.

I'm going to be giving that canna butter a go soon so let us know how you go JTP!

yes they say

Who are they ? I'm not being rude Pipeman I'm just looking for the facts as "they" have told me that more than half an hour boiling is damaging the psychoactive ability of the drug . Can anyone scientificaly verify or unverify (there is probably a real word I could have used) this infomation ? The leaf & tip I plan to use (around 1/2 Lb) made real poor hash . I'm wondering if it is worth using at all . I plan to boil it in 2-4 parts using the same butter to compensate for its lack of trichomes and or potency . The reason for this is have you ever tried wringing out 1\2 lb of leaf sodden with butter & water .

I dunno mate. "they" could be right in terms of breaking down THC in long cooking periods. who knows. The theory is the fats and oils absorb the THC, and the longer you leave them there, the more they will absorb. Seems to be almost universal opinion. and as others have mentioned, the trick is to simmer, not rapid boil.

*toke* ah that sweet, sweet vapour B)

anyway, I've read some discussions around the net of butter prepared in different way gives different effects. some more psychoactive highs, some more couchlock. can't remember details. It could be that butter cooked for less time is less potent but has more heady energetic type high but butter cooked for longer is more potent couchlock type high. I don't know, that is pure conjecture, but I think you've raised something worth thinking about at least.

cooking for 8-10 hours is no probs anyway. just make a day of it. chuck it all together on the stove in the morning, get ripped, leave the pot on simmer and give it a stir whenever you make a trip to the kitchen for munchies. its over before you know it. time passes pretty quickly when you're stoned I find. they should give pot to all prisoners I reckon, they'd do their time real easy.
