Bottom leaves turning yellow and brittle and falling off. Tips going brown.

mix looks a bit woody .. or its water ph ..

 

you need a good potting mix with good drainage

I must add that I have not added any nutes so i don't know why the tips are browning

Potting mixes that have bark in them will present with a few problems. For drainage some perlite mixed in is beneficial.

I went out today and bought some seed rasing mix which is much finer and chucked in 25% perlite and repotted them so hopefully things start to look up within the next week or so. Ill keep you guys posted

Sounds good. They are hardy little plants they should come back no problems.

So a week and a bit in and the tips are still browning. Anyone have any ideas?

One of mine looked quite similar a few weeks ago, turned out something fell down behind my grow box blocking about half the exhaust hole, which caused temperatures to rise significantly, coming into the already hot summer days didn't help either.

I'm no expert, but I would suggest keeping an eye on the temperature.

if thats not helping, try 6.5

and dont water too often .... i know ya say ya watering when dry, but maybe its not dry enough?

 

or....

 

a block of coco from coles or mitre10 will only set ya back 4$ and ph down from the pet shop should only be about 15$... i think ya can buy coco specific nutrients from bunnings, but not too sure ... otherwise, get some coco specific nutes from a hydro shop

and follow a successful coco diary
