Fair enough, but seems like that's kinda, and I only mean kinda, what you're doing, fixing it. But I understand man, it's cool, you're getting good results and that's all that really matters isn't it?

Sorry everyone, I often start a thread, and ask somthing and forget to come back to it.

 

Budwaver, I don't use a RTW system, although flood and drain isn't a hell of an improvement, it isn't a wate of nutrient that's a bother anyway.

 

I have 1 metre sq. 600 watt HPS, with an air cooled hood, and two fans introducing fresh air. The plants are nice and green, just not going anywhere. Well; not going anywhere fast. they're getting there ok but.I havent got any CO2 happening this time with so much air flow, it'd just be wasted. I'm just used to seeing tank growth (my son's slang is rubbing of on me ).

 

Things will probably go fine when I lift the nute strencht. I'm waiting on a few clones to catch up in another system so i can plop them in with the main grow, and so I do have a lowish nute levl.

 

But I just thought these seemed to be growing slower than with the cheaper nutes, which didn't make sense, canna nutes are highly thought of.

 

I'm not growing a strain i've grown before, so no glow of hope there .

 

 

I have always thought of trying general hydroponics, and I may give them a go one day too. Budwaver's right I think. well I'm sure.

 

The only way to really tell is to do a comparrison with all things equal except the nutes.

Luke, i think it wa you that was speaking about natural sitautions and replicating them for optimum growth.

 

We used to banter this about with fish breeding. Some would say that fish should be kept close to their natural counterparts for greater colour/health and beauty.

 

The other school of thought was that these fish had lived for many generations since being wild caught, and if dropped in their natural conditions would most likely die. I reckon it's the same arguemtn with plants, to a large degree.

 

Don't ask me what I think on the subject, I just don't know. I do know the fish caught in wild circumstnces HAVE to be cared for in their natural set ups but.

 

Anyway, it's no huge dramas, just quirious if anyone was using canna and noticed anything worth talking about. apparently not.
