Having seeds sent to Australia

I had some seeds sent from the Attitude Seed Bank in the UK, which claims to be the largest Cannabis seeds superstore in the world, and that their seeds are fresh and tested.

 

None of the seeds they sent me (including promotional seed freebies) germinated properly. I had them between wet paper towelling for over a week at temperatures above 21°C.

 

Is it possible that customs or Australia Post zaps all incoming parcels with X-Rays or some other seed killing mechanism, when they see a suspicious package without a return address?

 

Has anybody else had similar problems?

Nah I doubt that is the problem, if it isn't your technique the seeds are shit unless of course they cooked in your letterbox or similar.

well now you mention it i did have two packets from a seedbank ..

and only one plant popped properly and grew out of 16 seeds!

some others cracked but never had the strength to pop out of the seed coat

some never even cracked

 

but i just put it down to old stock

and one of the breeders i emailed said yea it would have been old stock

the seedbank will never take the rap for poor germination

cause they keep the seeds until they are all sold

90% of seeds have no use by: stamp on them

 

i remember rumours long times ago that Customs or someone

was putting mail thru some sorta rays that could sterilise seed

but i dont think it ever really happened

they would have to put all the letters thru just for some random seeds

Customs has bigger fish to fry ... i hope

Got an Attitude order recently and had 7/7 germ, and all are growing pretty good. Had read some bad things about their seeds being old, but i stuck to some of the 'better-known' strains / top-10 sellers and im guessing these get turned over pretty regularly.

Attitude are a solid company, ordered two seeds + got a freebie, all three germinated and are growing well

Attitudes done me pretty good . 100 percent germination from the fairly large amount I did this year

Send them an email they should replace your seeds and next time skip the paper towel , leave them in a cup of water for 24 - 48 hours until they sink then pop them in moist light soil mix and keep moist

quite a few seeds get through customs clock you only got to do a bit of research i was suprised when i first found out too
