"In an oppressive future, a fireman whose duty is to destroy all books"

An old movie but one I dare say many have never seen. This is a great movie starring Oskar Werner set in the future (keeping in mind year released lol) where all literature is banned and it's the work of the firemen to seek out anyone reading or keeping books, arrest them & destroy the books. In a world where television rules to keep the masses dumbed down so they conform and people fight and die for justice, and the freedom to read.

The story follows Montag (Oskar Werner) who is a fireman and very good at his job until he meets a girl who makes him think, and he soon picks up one the books in a raid and begins to teach himself to read. He then begins to question what his life has been for and what's really right and wrong.

Obviously they're are some flaws in the storyline but it's still well worth the watch and I dare say without having ever read it that the book of the same title by Ray Bradbury from which it comes is probably even more enjoyably than the movie.

If you haven't seen it go get it today as I'm sure it will quickly become a favourite with its relevant storyline. ;)
