1000w globe in nova shade?

hi all,

wondering if a 1000w bulb can be used in a nova shade .... i bought a secondhand 1000w bulb, ballast and the shade which is a "chinamans hat" as they guy called it but it kinda sux

the bulb can only face downwards giving me alot less height and would prefer it going length ways.

can i use a nova shade (i have one from my 400w) or what sort of shade can i use ?

Nah u cant use a 1000 watt light in a 400 watt nova shadethe heat buildup may cause an electrical fault or something similar....you can use a 400 watt light in a 1000 watt shade but not the reverse....

 

you can get 1000 watt nova shades...you can get a second hand batwing for the bulb...

hmmm the reason for the electrical short is to close to something or not vented enough ?

if not the bulb holder for the chinamans hat can be removed so maybe i can change them over and use the nova hood with the chinamans bulb holder ?

i wouldnt flower under a 2nd hand bulb. Get a new one by the 3rd week into flower and feel the power.
