THE GATEWAY DRUG

Hey all,

 

I've logged onto this site nearly everyday for the past year but have only posted a couple of times. My name is.. well lets say......Larry and I've smoked weed for about 10 years and am pretty open about it with people i know. Its just every now and then you come across some stiff who thinks every dribble of that comes out of their mouth is truth. Nearly everytime the first thing they say is " mate thats the gateway drug ". If only they would realize that MARIJUANA is more like the gates padlock. 90% of people i know who smoke marijuana have no interest or need to progress to harder drugs. I have been around all sorts of drugs but have never felt the need to take them. We enjoy smoking weed and weed only. Don't drink, don't cause trouble and most IMPORTANTLY pay taxes. I have lost a good mate who started using speed then heroin. Ended up robbing us all while we were HARD AT WORK paying taxes for a system that totally ignores us. Now he is getting looked after by centrelink because DRUGS/ not a herb have turned him into a pathetic mess. Now if marijuana was legalised maybe we'd have less buglary, drunken fights, and less drug related deaths. Or if they don't legalise it I hope they wake up to their senses and realize its not the GATEWAY DRUG.

If you think about it the real "Gateway drugs" are in my opinion alcohol and tobacco.

The name 'marijuana' is from Mexico and is the name used by the DEA to demonise cannabis. During the war years farmers we legally bound to grow cannibis fibre (hemp) for ropes and fibre for the war effort

The US govt couldn't demonise hemp, it helped win the war, but Marijuana was used by those illeagal immigrants and was evil

Mr. DuPont came up with Nylon, an alternative to the natural hemp for making ropes and fibre. As with many BIG chemical companies DuPont had some major influence in US politics and hemp fibre ceased being used. This made banning the dangerous drug Marijuana much easier and the histeria/propaganda easy to distribute.

 

Alcohol and cigarettes are the two biggest gateway drugs. But as I've stated elsewhere govts make too much tax dollars from the sales of both. Both Alcohol and cigarette prices haven't increased due to production costs its due to the increased taxes levied on both. But still the govt condone the use of these, sure they restrict access by age and warn of their dangers to health, but they aren't an illegal substance. Its the same with pharma drugs, grow an opium poppy in your front yard and see what happens but Tasmania has the worlds biggest opium production for pharma use. And this is legal.

Not to be TOO pedantic but DuPont didn't come up with the patent, it was part of the war booty from their whole 18 months or so in WW1, they pinched it from the Germans. But DuPont goes back much further and came to America from France in the 1700's as a gunpowder supplier and were VERY close friends with the usual suspects, and still are. More merchants of death cleaning up at the expense of us landless peasants.

imo the gateway drugs are the prescription/western medications.....

i`ve been smoking for almost 23yrs and been through just about every illicit drug and many licit ones.......

when i used to hit the hard stuff, prescribed or not, i always lost control....getting into fights, smashing stuff, ect, ... but when i stay off them and stick to the chooff, i stay cool calm and collected

 

i dunno what these people are thinkn when they say its a gateway drug......i got years of criminal, mental health, and hospitol records to prove that thier ideas/methods dont work.....it clearly shows a pattern of when i was doing each drug and what thier recomendations were at the time.

 

eventually the shit just stopped ... no more crime, not more anger and no more reports....nothing

 

when i started researching/growing cannabis full time

and i know im not the only one in this boat.

 

so like i said, i dunno what the fuck these bastards are thinking....the truth/facts are right infront of them.

Its hard for the general public to know the facts when the government over the past 40 years or whatever has spent millions slandering the name of Cannabis ( cheers Reverend ) but i agree entirely with ya and would be good for people to make their own judgement rather than taking the governments word for it.

Yeah i agree merl1n.. there is a site www.cheapcigarettes.com.au which sell australian tobacco around the world for a 3rd of the price us actual australian have to pay for our own product. Now thats criminal.

The whole "gateway drug" thing is the easiest thing to throw back in peoples faces who have false impressions of what Cannabis is like. Using Cannabis doesn't make anybody do anything, it doesn't change a persons core personality structure and it certainly wouldn't make anyone move onto hard drugs.

 

To say Cannabis is a gateway drug to Heroin or any other sort of drug is like saying coffee is a gateway to beer, its a nonsensical argument and I find it hilarious people are still using it as a deterrent. The whole "gateway drug" thing was brought about during the days of Harry Anslinger who was also the same man who told the supreme court that the 'devil plant will insight white women to have sexual relations with black men' what a tool.

Nooby, I've had a read of that blog and if only 10% of that is correct ( and personally I don't disbelieve any of it) that's some scary shit and proves why we need Whistle blowing sites like WikiLeaks. And demonstrates why governments want to stop WikiLeaks

Finding shit out 50-100 years after the fact is bullshit. The question should be asked "who is hiding what?" and "Why?"

But we are just the shit kickers at the end of the line, Joe Public, and its a 'need to know basis and we don't need to know'

 

I attempted to obtain records from Dept of Families and communities. to be told these Records sealed for 110 years and when I asked "who is hiding what?" I was escorted from the building. Even under Freedom of Information some documents are exempt. They maybe obtained by court order but the Dept will drag their feet, make excuses and generally delay any attempt to unseal or even locate such documents. Its protectionism cos someone may sue, again the $$$$$$$

 

Nooby, I may stand corrected about DuPont (depending on which history books you look at) but my point was really about the sacred $$$$$$$$$ and government collusion with BIG business.
