SEEDLINGS TOO WEAK THEY ARE DYING HELP

i think it is too late now to help but anyway i need some advice. i have some seedlings that were growing very fast and stretching. this may have been because i left them in the dark for a few hours before putting them outside. but now they are outside and getting sun they are still stretching too tall and the stems are very weak and thin. without a support they would fall over. i put them in a good place with a bit of wind to strengthen the stems, i think only 1 out of 4 will survive . can anyone tell me how i can prevent this from happening in the future. thanks. leave about 2 cm room at soil surface when you start seeds an a week or so when they get long an streachy just top the soil up an they wont fall over again good luck

You can also bury them deeper.

Yeah deep stem plant them in future, get the benefit of better stability and a larger root system, unless they are in pots of course; tomato cage would be fine too.
