Hello I'm from Toowoomba just moved here before the floods and lost everything .

I'm hoping to meet some people from around here who are like minded

PS: Does anyone know of any Medical Groups around Toowoomba ?? I have a Medical License .

But no where to use it.

Sorry for my earlier outburst Salem but we get a lot of tossers on here claiming to know of legal avenues of obtaining or possesing cannabis, the simple fact being that at this point in time there are none except in the most extreme medical cases. Even then the person requiring it is subjected to a high level of contempt from those in law enforcement and government.

Sadly this does not look like changing anytime soon, with our current governments (state and federal, opposition and minor parties included) seemingly intent on taking the hardline approach.

What are the extreme medical requirements Salem. I am wanting to do this legally as well and am prepared to go through all the right channels. I have been told by a few of my eye specialist that I could try something that is illegal but others just laugh and say oh you dont want to have to endure all the side effects of cannabis. I think being blind would have to be far worse than imagined side effects. ha ha

Now that I think about it I can't recall anything official, I know some members on here have had a lot more experience on this subject and may be able to fill you in more but I'm sure I read somewhere that there are provisions for cancer and aids patients in extreme cases.

Not sure how this varies between states either.

Hi all i know this is my first post but i have been a member for a while now.

this is what i have to say YES you can but read this and is a night mare and money pit to get what u want done legally - QLD only

first you need to show that all other methods have not worked for you.first you need to go by ordering and trying a "Sativex" your doctor has to get a special authority by writing to the Federal Department of Health justifying the use of the medicine to the patience in question. then applying to Director-General of Health or excitive chief of health QLD for - Category 1 researcher licence

 

This licence is required by researchers wishing to carry out research or plant breeding programs with class A research cannabis plants or seed; class B research cannabis plants and seed and industrial cannabis plants and seed.

 

For plant breeding programs to achieve best results, it is desirable to have access to all available characteristics. This process may require introducing new accessions into plant breeding programs possibly sourced from international seed banks or from the wild where the THC concentrations are unknown. For this purpose, researchers use class A research plants which have been defined as a cannabis plant that may have a THC concentration in its leaves and flowering heads of 3% or more. These plants may only be grown in a locked glasshouse.

you need to obtain a Class 1 research licence

for high grade 3% thc or higher

Class 2 lower grade 3% thc or less.

then your idea behind the research for you class 1 licence is to produce your own tinctures that can be taken orally.

their is plenty more but this should give you a idea on pointing you to understanding our health system.
