In need of topping?

Recommended Posts

I have been growing for a few months now and my plants are getting reasonably tall, however they are not bushing out like my other plants. Should I cut the top of my plants so they bush out a bit more? If so where abouts is a good place to make the cut? Iv attatched a photo of each plant so you can see how theyv grown.

thanks

These are growing outdoors exclusively?

If they're already starting to flower then there will belittle point in topping. If they're still in strong vegetative growth you can take out the very tip of the plant and then the next two lowest shoots will develop into branches. Tipping should be done relatively early in the growth cycle to keep the plants bushy, but some strains are much more inclined to grow like a bush and some will grow more like a Christmas tree as you seem to have.

If you want to keep them growing just extend the lighting hours as much as possible. Outdoors this isnt always practical.

Good luck!

I tip every set of new shoots all over the plant everytime they appear, trying to keep all the shooting branches around the same height. Even to the extent of cutting inches off some. This goes on for 6 weeks from when the clone goes into a DWC, I use fluro's for this stage with good results. Then it's under the 1000hps to finish. Under the fluro's the steams/branches are not very ridgid, but once under the hps they get really strong.IMHO

First rule "suppercropping" don't talk about it.

i would leave them for now man, yea maybe bend the top nodes over so the lower nodes can get sun and grow to the sky! :applause:

maybe next grow try topping at the very start on the third node of veg growth, then every 2-3 node after that :D this will maximaize your yield and get that bushy growth that your looking for :thisbig:

have a look at my outdoories for an example

Those girls are looking sweet

good luck for the rest of the grow
