Yeah suck shit American government, it has taken that country going broke to change things though.

It's a pity the rest of us sheep have to pay for their fuck-ups, they led the world down this path with the Single Convention on Narcotics, it's only fitting they do something to clean the mess up.

I know it's a slippery slope quoting Wiki but have a look at some of the info, especially the reference to aspects of the 'medical defense' and whether the 'leaf' is even classed as cannabis.

Yeah, it's probably about money. That's certainly how he positioned it in his speech - saving court time and so on. It's almost certainly about undermining support for prop 19.

 

I have such mixed feelings about this, because whatever the motivation, providing Prop 19 still gets up, its a good thing.

 

In the last week, Arnie has told big oil to shut up and get the hell out of California elections & vote no on prop 23, he has decriminalized possession of 1 ounce of weed, he signed a bill aiding gay youths, created the first healthcare exchange in the USA, and now has budget deal and he is a Republican.

 

The things you can do when you're not eligible for re-election and can never become President, eh?

This is a trap. They know they are very, very close to losing, so they are trying to take away the penalty so they can say "So why do we need Prop 19 now?"... They are trying to undermine the motivation to vote for Prop 19, "Meh... Well the laws are soft enough against marijuana already".

 

You see if Prop 19 gets passed, it will be almost impossibly to put the genie back in the bottle, but if they can cause it to fail- then they can simply retoughen the pot laws again in a few years if they want.

 

Don't trust Arnie, he may have smoked pot, but he is RICH and corrupted by power, he is interesting in pleasing his rich friends, with their rich agenda's.
