3 DAY OLD SEEDLING BURNT IS THERE ANY CHANCE OF RECOVERY?

Recommended Posts

Hi, my lights accidentally were too close to my 3 day old seedlings for an evening and they are dry and flopped over but half of the stem is still strong. Should I start again or can the seedlings be saved somehow? Edited by power

Hey mate,

The plant is probably suffering from heat stress as well as a bit of de-hydration. Is it under Fluro's or HID's? If it's under a HPS or Metal Halide I would change and put it under some fluro's for now.

If you have a humidity dome place them under that to stop it from losing water to the environment. Mist it with some pH neutral water.

the reason it's probably dehydrated is its root system is unable to uptake enough water.

Agree with Gh. I have had fluros and cfls touching the leaves with no real problems. Pics would be good, if you could of course. It may be some other problem.

He *might * have meant "plants are under CFL's NOW"? cause yeah i agree.

If you cant spare the seeds just try to continue with them. Otherwise id start a few newies cause you could lose a week or two if you stunted/ shocked/ burnt them, but they should survive if you treat them well, and turn out to be good plants.

Pics?
