600w hps for grow box size

Hi all

I all i just bought a 600w hps, and iam trying to work out what size

box I need as to space limitations

I no got to be 50w per sq ft

 

6ft ht x 3ft w x 3ft d

 

would this be to small , as I am moving up from cf

It doesn't matter if the light is a little over powered for the grow room, it does mean you will have to pay a little more attention to your ventilation as it may get a bit warm in the room with it.

are you building a little cupboard or got something existing you are using? If you are building I'd make it narrower and wider if you can, something like 2.5 feet x 4.5 feet. More suited to the shape of your hood.

I will be building using ply , ndf or chip board

what ever cheap ?

ply would be best if you can afford it. Stay away from chipboard, it doesn't cope well with moisture, although if its painted and you don't spill water all the time it will still be OK.

Ply-wood is the way to go, check around for second hand wall panelling, old internal doors are also a good source of used ply.
