What's going wrong?

Recommended Posts

Hi group,

Some basics to start

- 50litre pots run-to-waste

- Coco with thick layer of clay balls at the bottom

- Auto-feed 1 min twice per day, don't always get 10% run-off

- Ample air-flow and oscliating fans in the bedroom

- Lights are about 15/30 cm away from tops (some longer branches have shot up)

- ec .6 - 1.2 (reduced from 1.2 due to burning, seemed to thrive at .6 in veg)

- Ph 5.8-6.0 feed tank, run-off is 6.8/6.9, pens calibrated regularly

- Flush weekly with ph adjusted water

- Currently in week 3 of flower

- Plants look mostly healthy, but patches of problems like this are coming up

- No evidence of bugs (i've looked under leaves)

Any ideas?

i have had a problem like this when my room gets too hot during summer

as the leaves perspire water 2 cool the plant down so a little more water could fix this problem

i would also be checking 4 any hot spots in your grow area

it could be that you need more air movement in the area by adding another fan

hope this helps

Yeah looks like they got a bit fried.

Them HPS can get mighty hot and do just that to your leaves and buds.

They will not recover either, however growth will continue on the unaffected parts.

Try not to mist plants while the lights are on or just prior to "morning time" as this can also give burns like this.

I had a suspicion it was something like this, but the leaves it is happening on are not directly below the lights. I guess it's just wherever the perpiration comes up.

you answered youre own question right there...

1minute a day.. is probably not enough if youre not getting any run off... also with such a massive fluctuation of PH.. means youre NOT flushing well enough...

also.. .6 - 1.2 EC.. is not enough nutrients...

when you flush.. with PH adjusted water.. what does the run off measure?.. you need to test the run off for PH and TDS

and continue flushing.. until the run off is around the same.. or a touch higher than the water going in..
