fungus gnats

Recommended Posts

I recently had the same problem with them little fuckers, and they can be gotten rid of completely. I used a product called eco neem, ordinary neem oil does as THC says, not much. I found the eco neem next to the neem oil at mitre 10. The stuff is not cheap though I payed $30.00 for a 100ml bottle. Mix it up as it says, 15ml per 10l of water and apply at about 1litre of the mix per 8 litres of soil. I had them crawling over every square centimetre of pot space (almost looked like the soil was moving!) and after application I can not find one of them, even when removing plants from pot to make sure they are not hiding down low. Plants did not seem to mind the stuff either, only drooping the same amount and for the same amount of time as a normal watering. They have absolutely shot up after getting rid of them little shits. I highly recommend this product for fungus gnats. There is a thread on this stuff in here somewhere but cant find it just now.

The Bottle says:

ECO NEEM

Botanical insecticide

Active Constituents:11.82g/L AZADIRACHTIN A & B present as 29.55g/L Azadirachta Indica extract.

For the control of two-spotted mites, aphids and whitefly in ornamentals and fungus gnats in potting soil in the home garden.

Made by: Organic crop protectants PTY LTD.

This product is cerified for organic use.

Hope this helps. :)

Umm yeah that is exactly what I use and its not 100% I can assure you! You can stop the gnats from being a problem but will never get rid of them completely, there will always be some around waiting for the chance to take over again.

That said its the best pest control product I have found as it works on both fungus gnats and spider mite without burning the plant like some others do.

yea its true that fungal gnats are the terrorists of the plant kingdom

over the years i have fought pitched battles with the little mongrels

first time i had them i killed my plants just trying to eliminate them and they were still there !!!

once they have taken hold on your plants i have found that i cannot completely eliminate them even by using Azadirachta Indica extract

to peace2u, prevention is the only answer you must keep your G-room completely insect-proof

...that ECONEEM. i just went and got some and when you read the back of the bottle it says DO NOT use with plants that produce food for human or animal consumption. As far as i know this applies for us as well. I dont know if ECONEEM is systemic and it doesn't state a witholding period. any ideas?
