Couple Charged In 1,000 LBS Pot Bust

Couple's Home Raided Last Month

DETROIT -- A man and his girlfriend have been charged with marijuana possession after Detroit police found about 1,000 pounds of pot during a raid on their home.

 

Police said in a release that 35-year-old Roderick Wright and 30-year-old Brandy Fleming have been arraigned on possession to deliver more than 45 kilograms of marijuana. A preliminary examination is set for Feb. 12.

 

Officers raided the west side home last month. The marijuana was wrapped in large bales and smaller, clear plastic bags. No one was home at the time of the raid.

 

Police said Wright and Fleming turned themselves in Tuesday and were arraigned Wednesday in Detroit's 36th District Court.

 

Police did not immediately know if either was represented by an attorney.

Good point, the article says more than 45kg and 100 pounds is just over 45kg...1000 pounds would be just over 453kg... stupid reporters
