A MAN caught with dozens of cannabis plants in Aberdeen claimed he was “brainwashed” by a cult to grow the drugs.

Grampian Police found 26 cannabis plants when they broke down Iain Fox’s flat door in Aberdeen in November 2007.

Defence solicitor Sheena Mair said that her client accepted responsibility for the Aberdeen haul but explained that he had been “brainwashed” into doing it.

Fox, 30, who was now under the care of his parents in Saltcoats, Ayrshire, pleaded guilty at Aberdeen Sheriff Court to being in possession of cannabis at 34 Charlotte Street, Aberdeen, on November 6.

Heheh , first thing I thought of seeing the title was "Hmm , musta been spending to much time at OS" lol

Only slightly funny but It's what I thought ... but then I thought of something quite worrying about that thought ... ahem , as in original defences ... I won't elaborate. >:(

Back to the article , Indeed that is a very interesting defence ... sometimes the craziest stories turn out to have some truth to them. Not this one though I reckon. >:(

I'd like to hear more of his views on the cult and how he was brainwashed though if indeed he believes it. I guess that stranger things have happened.

COuld also be just a well thought out plan for an insanity defence but with only 26 plants you wouldn't think that would be justified. lol

Very intruiging.

Cheerz :peace:
