seeds in rockwool

Recommended Posts

Hey Folks I,ve cracked some seeds in paper towel and then into rockwool cubes and they have sprouted in me little container.

Now this is the stage im not so confident with, you know what the procedure is?

I now got them under a twin 2ft fluro with gro lux bulbs. Just went under today

I found a chato post that said "rockwool doesnt need to be watered every day, dunk the cube halfway into a bowl of tap water for 2 or 3 seconds, repeat the process in 2 days or so when the cube is almost dry again.

So i'll try this and see what happens :) anybody else got a true and tried method id love to hear it.

yea roy chato is right on the 'just damp rockwool method' , i achieve this with a spray bottle of water giving cubes a few sprays each day directed at base of stork, the water runs down and disperses .. those babes ya have there cannot transpire(give off water) more than a drop of water per day so the water you apply really only replaces the water that evaporates from the rockwool cube, which is variable according to the relative humidity, the ambient temperature and the air flow where the cubes are

i recommend keeping your fluro tubes as close as possible to the new leaves of plant 'cause the fluro tubes do not have concentrated intense light therefore plants tend to stretch for the light as the distance from the tube increases .. fluros are cool enuf not to burn leaves so thats the positive side of keep tubes close

imo for good results

you need to to stick them

in a propergation box

with heat mat

keep the humidity high.

open lid once a day

for fresh air and spray leaves

they love bottom heat

No disrespect to chato or others

you cant over water rockwool.

I sit mine in h2o about 5mm

get roots in7>10 days

If you dont have a heat mat

get a card board box

stick a 60watt globe under it

place your propagation tray

on top.

Do you have a time machine?????
