All my seed is male?

So a mate sent me a heap of ak47 seed recently and i planted about 10 doin the usual- looking for a good mum to take cuttings from.

I raised em like i raise all my seed, soak for 24hrs in filtered water then when they break put em in potting mix under 100W 6400K CFLs for 3-5 weeks on 22on/2off a day. Then I take cuttings from em all and throw the mother plants under 12hr on/off to find the best/males/females.

My prob is that everyone of the 10 turned male on me! Now Ive only been growing since i was a kid, over 20 yrs, and I have neva had a ratio like that! Does anyone have any ideas why? I thought it may be something im doing? or is it just bad luck and i should start again?

It wold be very unlikely they are all male although it is possible in certain circumstances. My guess is you just got very unlucky, maby the next 10 you plant will all be female

I am guessing you are just really unlucky, I threw in 25 seed this year and 22 sprouted.

After sexing them and finding out what I got was VERY surprised to find that I got 19 females to put in the ground.

It all comes down to luck and not much else, try again I reckon. Hope the next lot even out your odds.

i too have had some pretty devastating male rates

personally id be sticking to 18/6

anything outside that is unnatural imo

as majority of strains are bred for those conditions

drop some more seeds

i just left 5 plants unsexed in 425ml cups for 3 months

left for dead let wilt etc treated harsh as

from those 5 i have found 2 fems...

basically its a numbers game and whilst environment can contribute

at least u know u aint got hermies...

start again id say

How unlucky is that?? But it does happen. In 2005/06 I went through 80-odd seeds to get 6 females, crushed me. It doesn't feel too good when it happens, but as others have said... just keep on trying mate, you'll get there & good luck with the next lot!
