Cheese and herb scones

I put 'cheese scone recipe' into google and a good couple of handfuls of mull (mostly leaf/tip) into it.

 

Used a nice aged cheddar and they didn't rise as much as I'd hoped but YUM.

ok ill pass it on to a mate im sure he could do with something new on the menu i like to use vanilla to mask butter taste less gag worthy thac plain choc all the time. i feel guilty after taking the last of his Bud today he doesnt smoke, purely a green/ hash eata puts ground up bud trimmings in every meal he eats gifts the bud for bags of leaf of hash. strange i know but he swears by it..

Sounds similar to the herb (including mull), cheese and pumpkin scones I used to make. Nothing better than serving these hot and buttered with a decent glass of red...especially in Winter

Scones are good in that you can flavour them (either in the cooking or after) to disguise the mull taste. I think it's worthwhile to make canna oil/butter to reduce what needs hiding but admit I often just can't be bothered.

 

Cake recipe. (pikelet/biscuit/scone/bread/whatever)

Handfull of herb.

Agreed - same story goes for making muffins (savoury) in my opinion.

 

I used to hate making my own butter but now I absolutely love it and enjoy the process very much, wish I could afford to do it more often, it's simple but it does take concentration in order not to f**k it up - not one of those things you can turn your back on that's for sure.

 

Quick AWESOME snack = cooking fettuccine and stirring some of the butter (letting it melt first) through it. Sorry I know it's off topic but it's so good and so simple
